Multiple Material Plastic Extrusions

Formtech has continuously developed new methods of multiple material extrusions to create added value for our customers. We can provide plastic extrusions with up to four different materials, eliminating the need to assemble several discrete extrusions.

Flexible polymers can be extruded with rigid extrusions to create hinges, seals, or other multi-functional products. If superior abrasion resistance and performance is required, engineered polymers, such as polycarbonate, can be extruded to thermoplastics, like PVC, for better product enhancement. Aesthetically, a clear polymer can be extruded to a colored polymer or two colored polymers can be extruded together to fit the appearance requirements of the part. The possibilities are endless in multiple material extrusions.
