The Formtech Difference

Posted 7/15/2008 11:39:00 AM by Admin

Welcome to Formtech's Innovative Solutions Blog.

As you search through our updated site, you may be wondering, "What Makes Formtech Different?"

Our new President and CEO, Paul Brestelli, explains:

“I've worked for three companies now, and Formtech is unique because first and foremost, we have a very strong desire to solve problems for a customer. Most of the extrusion companies I've worked for, and are familiar with, have a product that they sold. Formtech comes in and asks 'What kind of problem do you have, and what can we help you with? How can we satisfy your need that no one else has been able to satisfy?' That's a very unique approach, I think. It makes the product development cycle much more extensive and it makes the relationship with the customer much more important. You've got to have enough resources and patience to work in that kind of situation. That's a very strong situation for Formtech that allows them to be unique. Another situation is we have a very wide breadth of processing equipment which allows us to handle a multitude of materials. Most extrusion operations will handle one or two major materials and not handle anything else where we run a lot of materials. We also do what I call difficult applications—multiple extrusion applications, co-extrusions, cap stocking—and we also have value-added processes downstream from the extruders where we do embossing or special punching or cutting or reeling. There's a lot of things that are unique and provide a competitive advantage."
