When you work with Formtech, you work with a family business.  By interacting with us, you will work with a small, tight-knit group with vast capabilities.  To ensure that you receive great service and high quality products, it’s important that we get to know you and your products.  But, we also want you to get to know us, too.  Learn about our family through our Blog Series: Getting To Know The Formtech Family, by meeting Jeff Gray!

What is your name and job title at Formtech?

Jeff Gray – I am the Quality Assurance Manager at the Formtech Fairview plant.

What role does your job play in the Formtech process?

My primary role is all things quality related.  So, essentially it is to ensure our quality system produces quality final product, but aside from that I am also active with safety and the product development (PD) team.

Who do you work with on a regular basis?

I work with a variety of people.  On our end, I work with production, development, purchasing, and tool and die.  On the other side, I work with our customers and our vendors.

What is your proudest moment at Formtech so far?

The progression of the positions that I have moved in Formtech.  Starting at operator, to extruder tech,  to inspector, and now at my current status as quality control manager.

What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

If I am not watching anything sports related, I am relaxing just playing my guitar.

What are the top 3 highlights of your life?

#1 – The birth of my Son.

#2 – The purchase of my 1st house.

#3 – Seeing my son graduate and make his own decision to become a U.S. Army Soldier! (Yes I kind of squeezed an extra highlight in there.)

Finish this sentence: “Three things people would be surprised to know about me include…”

  • I have an addiction to documentaries.  As I have been told around the house, I watch “old person TV”!
  • I love to cook.
  • My 1st car was a 1976 yellow AMC Hornet. No one should admit that, but it’s true!

What was your favorite childhood gift that you ever received?

When I was finally old enough to hunt, I got a Remington 17, 20 gauge shotgun from my grandfather.  I later passed it on to my son.

What do you like best about working at Formtech?

The people I work with.  I have worked with people at every location, and they are all a great bunch of people.

What is something people might not know about Formtech?

How many products are out there in stores, homes, and products that are manufactured by Formtech.  We are everywhere!

What are you having for dinner tonight after work?

It is Tuesday Taco Night!

What dessert would you have magically appear afterwards if you could pick?

Hot Fudge Sundae.
